College and Career Counseling

8:00 am - 2:35 pm

SVCS begins official college and career counseling in 7th Grade. That process continues at an accelerated rate once students reach High School. Guest speakers and guidance from SVCS staff help direct students to find the occupations that fit their God-given talents and the institutions that can best help them reach their goals.

Throughout their High School years, students have the opportunity to attend on-campus meetings with representatives from colleges and universities from across the country. They also receive guidance in how to use a wide variety of planning tools which are available to them both through SVCS and through outside sources.

Students are highly encouraged to begin preparation for standardized tests early in their High School career. The math and English departments both systematically give practice tests to help prepare students for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT. As they approach graduation, they receive assistance in taking the proper tests, completing applications, and applying for financial aid.
